Sensex plunges 1708 points, Nifty below 14350 as Covid-19 makes markets jittery

Benchmark index BSE Sensex crashed over 1,700 points on Monday, as sentiment in the equity markets remained subdued due to the continuous rise in coronavirus cases in the country. The index fell 3.44%, or 1,707.94 points, to end at 47,883.38.
